Supplier quality is often reduced to an annual score calculated from late deliveries and a letter sent after a serious incident. Incoming non-conformities are handled internally to avoid stopping production, the supplier is informed far too late and the same defects come back. Procurement and quality end up defending different criteria.

Two days to build a complete framework: selection criteria, quality requirements in the specification, periodic evaluation, on-site audit, non-conformity handling and improvement plans. All work is carried out on the real supplier panels brought by participants.

1Knowing your supplier panel

Not every supplier should be managed in the same way

  • Segment the panel according to product risk and commercial exposure
  • Identify critical suppliers and single sources
  • Clarify the respective responsibilities of procurement and quality
  • Define the level of surveillance appropriate to each segment

2Selecting and contracting

State your expectations before placing the order

  • Define selection and approval criteria
  • Formalise quality requirements within the specification
  • Specify inspection arrangements and the documents to be supplied
  • Control modifications and changes of manufacturing site
  • Organise the qualification of first deliveries

3Evaluating and auditing

Measure on facts, then go and see on site

  • Build a periodic evaluation scorecard fed by actual data
  • Track conformity, on-time delivery and responsiveness indicators
  • Prepare a site audit and build the audit questionnaire
  • Conduct the audit and formulate evidence-based findings
  • Present the conclusions and secure a commitment

4Driving improvement

From the finding to a shared improvement plan

  • Handle a non-conformity and require a root cause analysis
  • Assess the relevance of the corrective action proposed
  • Build an improvement plan jointly with the supplier
  • Track milestones and reassess performance
  • Decide on removal from the panel when improvement does not materialise

Before the programme
Online positioning questionnaire. Your development objectives are shared with the trainer, who tailors the practical case studies to your context.
Teaching methods
Theoretical input, workshops and practical case studies. Digital course materials and method sheets provided.
Assessment
Multiple-choice tests and role-play exercises. Assessment of learning at the start and end of the programme, with immediate and 60-day follow-up evaluations.
After the programme
One year of access to the e-learning platform. Self-assessment of the skills acquired and a 30-day follow-up session with your trainer.
