Description

Training Projects: Writing the Specification Brief, Steering Delivery and Reporting

Five hours online to run a training initiative from the initial request through to the final report

  • 0.75 days — 5.25 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • All levels
  • Up to 6 participants

A request comes up from the business: a particular team needs training. Providers are approached before the expected competencies have been defined, the cheapest proposal wins, registrations are rushed through and the final report amounts to a satisfaction score sent on without comment.

This 5-hour-15-minute virtual classroom covers the steering of a training initiative whatever its delivery format, digitalisation being addressed in a separate programme. Participants translate a real request into a competency requirement, draft the corresponding specification brief, compare proposals against an assessment grid built together, then prepare the report to be presented to the sponsor.

Learning objectives

  • Translate a request from the business into a clearly formulated competency requirement
  • Draft a specification brief that a provider can work from
  • Compare training proposals against explicit criteria
  • Plan the milestones and resources of a training initiative
  • Produce the review of an initiative and present it to the sponsor

What makes this programme different

A specification brief drafted from a real request brought by the participant
A proposal comparison grid built and then applied during the session
A milestone tracking sheet transferable to other initiatives
