Description
Treasury Management: Forecasting Cash Flows, Making Trade-Offs and Securing Payments
Know each week where cash is heading and decide before the bank decides for you
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
Many companies manage treasury on the strength of the morning bank balance. Customer collections are monitored with no link to committed disbursements and forecasts rarely extend beyond the current month. Banking charges accumulate unchecked and fraud attempts target approval routes that were never clearly defined.
These two days establish a genuine treasurer's practice. Participants build their cash position and connect it to operating cycles, then develop a rolling forecast fed by operational teams. They prepare the negotiation of banking terms and short-term facilities, then lock down payment approval routes.
Learning objectives
- Build a reliable cash position from banking and accounting data
- Develop a rolling cash forecast fed by operational departments
- Analyse the causes of variances between forecast and actual figures
- Negotiate banking terms and select a suitable short-term financing solution
- Secure payment approval routes against fraud attempts
