Description

Word — Advanced Word Processing: Styles, Automation and Reliable Documents

Stop formatting by hand and let styles and automation carry the consistency of your documents

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

The document keeps growing and every correction shifts the layout. Headings have been bolded one by one, the table of contents is retyped manually, numbering restarts from the beginning after an insertion, and mail merge remains the preserve of one person in the department.

These 14 hours rebuild the document from its structure: a style set and a reusable template, sections with differentiated headers, fields and automatic tables, mail merge and forms with protected fields. The work is carried out on real documents brought by participants, most of them already formatted by hand.

Learning objectives

  • Build a style set and save it in a reusable template
  • Structure a long document into sections with distinct headers and numbering
  • Generate and update a table of contents and a table of figures
  • Run a mail merge for letters and labels from a data file
  • Create a form with protected fields to be completed by a third party
  • Track changes and merge feedback from several reviewers

What makes this programme different

Documents brought by participants are reworked and restructured during the session
A complete corporate template is built and then tested on a new document
A deliberately damaged file serves as a formatting diagnosis exercise
