Description
Excel for Credit Management: Tracking Receivables, Chasing Payments and Anticipating Risk
Turning the aged receivables report into a collections and customer risk decision tool
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
Credit managers usually extract an aged receivables report every week, yet analysis often stops at sorting by ageing bracket. Collection actions are decided as they come, with no risk ranking. Tracking of cash receipts and payment promises remains scattered across several personal files.
These two days focus on the Excel toolkit for the receivables function. Participants build a reworked aged receivables report, then a collections scoring model and a customer-level exposure tracker. They also put in place the payment period and collection indicators expected by the finance function.
Learning objectives
- Rework an aged receivables report to make it usable for management purposes
- Build a customer ranking based on risk level
- Automate the preparation and tracking of collection actions
- Calculate and monitor payment period and collection indicators
- Report the evolution of customer exposure to the finance function
