Description
Quality Control Manager: Organising Inspections, Ensuring Reliability and Deciding
Three days to build an effective control plan and decide confidently on suspect products
- 3 days — 21 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
Quality control is caught between delivery deadlines and the fear of a customer claim. Inspection points have been added incident after incident and never removed. Measuring equipment is not consistently monitored and two inspectors reach different conclusions on the same part. Decisions on doubtful batches are taken without any record.
These 21 hours professionalise the function. Participants learn to build a control plan focused on critical characteristics, to ensure the reliability of measuring equipment, to use results to detect process drift and to organise decision-making on non-conforming products. They leave with a revised control plan and a written decision process.
Learning objectives
- Build a control plan based on the critical characteristics of the product
- Define inspection points, frequencies and sampling sizes
- Organise the monitoring and traceability of measuring equipment
- Assess the precision of a measuring device and of its user
- Use inspection results to detect process drift
- Organise decision-making and traceability for non-conforming products
