Description

Corporate Strategy: Analysing Your Market, Making Trade-Offs and Deploying an Action Plan

Move beyond the rolling plan renewed year after year and finally decide between the options on the table

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Many business leaders confuse strategy with a multi-year budget. The annual document repeats the same priorities, everyone recognises their own scope in it, and no option is ever genuinely ruled out. Without explicit trade-offs, resources stay spread across activities that deliver neither the expected growth nor the expected profitability, and teams have no clear sense of what really matters.

Two days to rebuild the approach in the right order: reading the environment and the positions actually held, then formulating genuinely contrasting options and making a reasoned choice. Each participant leaves with a diagnostic of their own business and a roadmap setting out its conditions for success.

Learning objectives

  • Analyse the competitive environment and market developments
  • Assess the resources and capabilities that underpin a sustainable advantage
  • Formulate genuinely contrasting strategic options
  • Decide between those options using explicit criteria
  • Translate the chosen option into an action plan and monitoring indicators

What makes this programme different

The diagnostic is carried out on the participant's real business rather than a generic case study
Options are formulated in opposing pairs to force a genuine trade-off
The roadmap includes conditions for success and the signals that justify stopping
