Description
Internal Process Audit: Preparing the Audit, Questioning and Documenting Findings
Audit a process end to end and deliver findings that the process owner can genuinely act on
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
Being appointed internal auditor without ever having audited is an uncomfortable position: you know the organisation but not the method, you hesitate to question longer-serving colleagues, and you leave the interview with notes nobody knows how to use. The audit then becomes a simple documentary check with no effect on how the business actually operates.
Two days to acquire the core method of process auditing, whatever the reference framework: describe the process, prepare a line of questioning, look for evidence during the interview and write a report that can be used. Audits linked to the ISO 9001 standard are covered in a dedicated module.
Learning objectives
- Describe a process with its inputs, outputs and interfaces
- Prepare an audit plan and a questioning guide
- Conduct the audit interview while seeking evidence
- Distinguish a nonconformity from an improvement opportunity
- Write a report that is genuinely useful to the process owner
