Description
Recruitment Interviewing: Building the Framework, Questioning and Deciding
Conduct a structured interview that separates facts from impressions and supports a sound hiring decision
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
A poorly conducted recruitment interview reveals itself through its consequences. The decision is made within the first few minutes, the questions vary from one candidate to the next, and the assessment becomes impossible to justify to the hiring manager. Hiring mistakes are costly and keep recurring for as long as the method stays the same.
Two days of practice in structured interviewing, from preparing the interview framework to delivering a reasoned decision. Interviews are conducted and then reviewed point by point with the group.
Learning objectives
- Build an interview framework based on the requirement agreed with the hiring manager
- Conduct a structured interview from the first contact through to the conclusion
- Question candidates on real situations in order to obtain factual evidence
- Identify your own assessment biases and limit their effects
- Assess and compare candidates against explicit criteria
- Present a reasoned decision to the hiring manager and to the candidate
