Description

Remote Recruitment and Onboarding: Assess, Decide and Welcome

Three hours to make remote hiring reliable, right through to the new joiner's first days

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

Recruiting remotely removes part of the usual signals. Video calls flatten behaviour, the candidate is at home and comparing profiles becomes harder. Once the offer is signed, the handover to the line manager is often poor and the organisation loses within weeks a candidate it spent months finding.

These 3 hours are designed for experienced recruiters who want to strengthen their remote practice. The work covers structuring assessment over video, coordinating everyone involved in the process, then the sequence running from the offer of employment to the first days on the job. Attention focuses on the moments where the process breaks down.

Learning objectives

  • Structure a video-based assessment around observable criteria
  • Neutralise the biases introduced by the setting and by connection quality
  • Coordinate the people involved in a remote selection process
  • Organise the period between the offer of employment and the actual start date
  • Pass on to the line manager the information needed to integrate the new joiner

What makes this programme different

Focused work on the period between signature and arrival, where candidates are lost
Video interviews analysed purely on the quality of the assessment
A recruiter-to-manager handover template built during the session
