Description

Self-Esteem: Recognising Your Strengths, Defusing Self-Criticism and Taking Action

One day to develop a fairer view of yourself and stop discounting your own contribution at work

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

A compliment passes without landing, a success is put down to luck, a mistake becomes proof of general incompetence. This harsh self-reading holds back speaking up, applying for roles and putting forward ideas, even when the skills are clearly there.

This one-day programme offers focused work on the way participants view themselves. They distinguish self-esteem from self-confidence and assertiveness, identify their real strengths on the basis of facts, recognise their critical inner dialogue and prepare one concrete action they have been putting off.

Learning objectives

  • Distinguish self-esteem, self-confidence and assertiveness
  • Identify your achievements and qualities on the basis of verifiable facts
  • Recognise the wording of your critical inner dialogue
  • Reframe a self-criticism into a usable observation
  • Commit to an action postponed through lack of confidence

What makes this programme different

An inventory of achievements based on facts rather than impressions
Work on inner dialogue drawn from recent real situations
One concrete action committed to at the end of the day with a stated deadline
