Description

Stress Management: Regulating the Body, Recovering and Building Lasting Routines

Two days of body and breathing practice to restore calm and recover every day

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Tight shoulders, shallow breathing before a meeting, shortened nights, difficulty switching off in the evening: workplace stress registers first in the body. Organisational advice is not enough when tension levels remain permanently high.

This 14-hour programme is overwhelmingly practical. Participants experience breathing, muscle release and grounding exercises, try out short routines that can be used at the workstation and build their own daily recovery programme. The analysis of organisational causes of stress is covered by a separate programme in the catalogue.

Learning objectives

  • Identify how accumulated tension shows up in your body
  • Practise several breathing techniques suited to different contexts
  • Release areas of muscular tension through short exercises
  • Use a grounding technique before a demanding situation
  • Organise recovery during the day and at the end of the day
  • Build a realistic personal routine and track your practice

What makes this programme different

Most of the time devoted to practising the exercises rather than to theory
Short routines tested in real workstation conditions
A written personal recovery programme trialled between the two days
