Description

The 4 Keys to Change Management: Diagnose, Engage and Embed

Four reference points to move from a project approved in committee to a change genuinely adopted on the ground

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

A project can be technically sound and still go nowhere on the ground. Deadlines slip, the new tool sits alongside old habits, and the project team wears itself out chasing people. In most cases, change support has been reduced to one briefing meeting and a hands-on tool session.

Two days to structure change support around four keys: impact diagnosis, stakeholder engagement, capability building and embedding new practices. Each key comes with straightforward tools that participants apply to a live project within their own organisation.

Learning objectives

  • Assess the impact of a project on roles and the organisation
  • Identify the stakeholders to involve and the right moment to do so
  • Build a capability-building approach aligned with actual usage
  • Organise the embedding of new practices after roll-out
  • Track change support progress using simple indicators

What makes this programme different

The four keys are applied to a live project brought by each participant
An impact analysis by role is produced during the session
The embedding plan is scheduled for several months beyond roll-out

Programme

1Diagnosing impacts

Measuring what genuinely changes

  • Describe the activity before and after the project
  • Identify the roles most affected
  • Pinpoint the practices that will disappear
  • Prioritise impacts according to their scale

2Engaging stakeholders

Involving rather than informing

  • Identify stakeholders and their positions
  • Select engagement methods according to profiles
  • Build a network of champions on the ground
  • Address reasoned objections

3Building capability

Moving from demonstration to real use

  • Distinguish between information
  • awareness and training
  • Design learning paths by user profile
  • Plan hands-on support at go-live
  • Organise peer-to-peer sharing of practical tips

4Embedding practices

Avoiding a return to old habits

  • Spot the warning signs of backsliding
  • Update rules and reference documents
  • Recognise usage aligned with the new practices
  • Track a small set of adoption indicators
