Description
The Trainer’s Role: Designing, Delivering and Assessing Training
Twenty-five hours covering the full trainer cycle, from the initial request through to evidence of learning
- 3.57 days — 25 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
Most people become trainers through subject-matter expertise rather than through formal preparation. The request arrives vague. The programme is assembled under pressure from existing materials. Delivery relies on verbal fluency, and assessment amounts to a satisfaction form completed on the way out.
These 25 hours cover the role in full. Participants learn to translate a request into learning objectives, build a coherent progression, deliver while holding a group, and genuinely verify what has been learned. Each participant leaves with a training session designed end to end and already tested in front of the group.
Learning objectives
- Translate a training request into learning objectives formulated in assessable terms
- Build a learning progression suited to the audience and the time available
- Select delivery methods that serve each intended objective
- Deliver a session while sustaining the group's attention and participation
- Put in place assessment methods immediately after delivery and at a later stage
- Review your own delivery practice using the feedback received
