Description

Transition to Retirement: Preparing, Organising and Reinventing Daily Life

Three days to approach retirement as far more than the simple end of a working career

  • 3 days — 21 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Retirement shifts reference points that have been in place for decades: the rhythm of the day, one's position within a group, the sense of usefulness and at times the balance of the household. Many people attend to the practical arrangements and only later discover that the real difficulty lies elsewhere.

This 21-hour programme addresses the personal and relational dimension of the transition. Over three days, participants take stock of what they are leaving behind, identify what they wish to pass on, design the structure of their new time and prepare the adjustments to be made with those around them. Each participant leaves with a written personal plan and defined review points.

Learning objectives

  • Identify the professional reference points that disappear on retirement
  • Articulate what you wish to pass on before leaving your role
  • Design a realistic weekly structure for your time
  • Anticipate relational adjustments with those closest to you
  • Define a personal plan for the first months of retirement
